Robin and I met with Dr. Michael Pishvaian from Georgetown University Hospital. He has hours at the Medstar Montgomery Oncology office which certainly makes this convenient. Between seeing Dr. Marshall last week and our meeting now I had done a great deal of research on what I had. I’d already figured out that with the cancer being in my liver that put me in Stage IV. I’d also read that life expectancy for this type of cancer is not good and can be very short. Robin didn’t want to know about this and stepped out of the room when I asked the doctor if my understanding was correct – it is, or at least can be. I’ll be getting a mediport installed next week while having a liver biopsy and then I’ll be starting on chemotherapy.
