Yes my lovely PIP (portable infusion pump) is once again hooked to my hip (hanging from a carabiner on my belt) and attached to my heart (via the mediport). 🙂
So infusion #3 is on the books. PIP will be removed on Thursday at 12:30pm. Until then I get to be annoyingly serenaded by the little whirl of the infusion pump kicking off every minute.
So here is a fun fact I finally put together today. I get nauseous from the antiemetic medicine I’m given as a pre-treatment before receiving my chemo. The reason I know this is I started feeling ill today right after I got Zofran. Go figure. Zofran also happens to be one of the pills I take twice a day starting tomorrow too try and stave off the nausea. Hmm, yeah – how’s that working for you? NOT! I have another medicine that’s also supposed to help with the nausea, so I’m going to skip the Zofran tomorrow and stick to Compazine and see if that’s any better.
Cancer is a non stop rerun ear worm of Gilda Radner’s SNL character Roseanne Roseannadanna eloquently stating, “Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it’s always something — if it ain’t one thing, it’s another.”
On the upside today, I met a young man today who’s being treated for testicular cancer, so he was telling me everything he’s been going through with that. Very different chemo regiment and I’ll probably never run in to him again because of our differing schedules but the discussion was a nice way to pass the time. Thankfully they caught his cancer rather early on, and he should be completely cured by August.
