Valentines Day

Nothing like giving a little blood on Valentines Day. And that’s all today entailed a little blood – 3 small vials worth to be exact.

Today was a follow-up day for the new study. A quick hop up to see my girl friends at 5North, have my vitals, and blood taken and they sent me packing.

ALWAYS bring a book with you when going to the hospital.

In order to beat the traffic and have time for the lab to get the results of my blood work to Dr. Pishvaian I came in at 7:30. The 20 minutes I was upstairs meant I had a little over an hour to kill before seeing Dr. P.

Jennifer – the clinical trial coordinator – came in and counted my pills. She has to make sure I’m not only taking them as prescribed but also that I have the number I’m supposed to. A quick run down of how I felt last week and that was it. Dr. P. and I talked briefly – no news is good news. I asked about the biopsy and whether his wife thought she would do the surgery to which he replied, “Agh” and began to frantically text his wife. Nice to know I’m not the only one in the room who forgets things.

Jennifer then handed me my pills for the morning – yes that’s part of the whole protocol thing – and I was done and heading home.

Rinse and repeat next week. Same Bat time, same Bat channel!
